Dr. Laraine Glidden makes a matching donation
to Lindsey Paul Rudolph Fund
Dr. Laraine Glidden presented a $7,676 check for the Lindsey Paul
Rudolph Fund, matching the total amount of funds donated thus
far. This fund was established by Laraine and William Glidden
in memory of Lindsey Rudolph who was killed in an auto accident
on her way to work at Charlotte Hall Library in the winter of
2009. The funds will be used to hire a summer children's room
assistant starting this summer.

Shown with Dr. Glidden (seated in the center) are
Friends of the Library President Annette Madel on her right and Board
of Library Trustees President Alan Dillingham on her left.
Standing in the back row from left to right are Lindsey's husband, Todd
Rudolph, and Lindsey's parents, Susan and Bob Paul.

Thank You, Elected Officials!
A big thank you
to our state elected officials and the Board of County Commissioners
(BOCC) for their continued support. The state officially approved
the FY2011 grant for $765,000 to support the design costs of the new
Leonardtown Library. Because we received this state grant, and
the BOCC had approved matching funds, we can move forward with the
design.
BOCC approved the final budget for FY2011. The library's
allocation will be $2,286,000 which is the same amount we received in
FY2010. Given the current economic situation, we are very
appreciative of their support.
