Staff attend Public Library Association Conference Staff with author Susanna Kearsley

Several staff attended the Public Library Association Conference in Indianapolis bringing back new ideas and inspiration as well as signed copies of books by some of their favorite authors.  Shown here are (left) Mary Anne Bowman, Branch Manager at Lexington Park and (right) Marylee Russell, Branch Manager at Leonardtown with historical fiction author Susanna Kearsley (middle).

Two of our staff were asked to present programs at the Conference: Director Kathleen Reif on the involvement of Maryland libraries  in early learning public policy development and Amanda Roberson, Assistant Branch Manager at Lexington Park, on early learning environments.

This free workshop, presented by Lexington Park Library and College of Southern Maryland Nonprofit Institute staff, will provide an overview of researching grant opportunities and grant writing process.  It focuses on the strategy for applying for grants and provides hands-on practice in writing a needs statement and an evaluation/sustainability section.  Register
