- Summer reading programs for
babies through teens begin June 6. Register your children and help
them maintain their reading skills and discover the joy of
reading.
- Celebrate
Naval Aviation 100th Anniversary with us at "Naval Aviation: Then & Now"
presented by Commander David Kindley June 15 at 7 PM at
Leonardtown. Details below.
- The
libraries now accept credit cards
(VISA, MasterCard, & Discover). $5
minimum charge.
- Effective
July 1, all overdue fines
currently 15 cents will increase to 25 cents per day. Other
daily fines will remain the same.
- Thank
you to the members of First Saints
Community Church who spent a Sunday morning
weeding the beds at each library. Our libraries look
fantastic!

Naval Aviation: Then & Now
Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Naval Aviation!
Wed,
June 15, 7 PM, Leonardtown Library
Commander David Kindley will take you from the first
days of Naval Aviation through the pivotal days of WWII and into
modern Naval Aviation as he discusses the history of Naval Aviation,
NAS PAX and US Navy Test Pilot School.
He will also share his personal experiences of more
than 20 years as a combat test carrier pilot and test pilot. A
graduate of USNTPS in 1998, Commander Kindley recently returned to
NAS PAX following his tour as Squadron Commanding Oficer of a Super
Hornet Squadron in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Summer Reading Programs begin June 6
Summer Reading Programs for babies through teens begin
June 6. Help
your kids maintain their reading skills and discover the fun of
reading by having them participate in one of these programs....plus
they earn prizes and even a book.
Read-to-Me--birth to age 2
Pick
up an activity sheet and return after completing 5 activities
with your little one to collect a prize for your baby. Complete
the sheet and receive a book.

One World, Many Stories--preschoolers to 5th grade
Complete a circle of fun activities on a game board
and receive a prize. Complete the entire game board and choose
a book.
You are here!--grade 6 and
up
Cross off a compass on a game card each time you read or listen
to a book for 20 minutes, attend a library program or write and turn
in a book review. Complete a row and choose a prize and be
entered in a drawing. Complete the entire card and earn a book
as well as be entered in the grand prize drawings for a digital
camera, flip video camera, karaoke machine, Scene IT game, or $25
iTune gift card.

tickets for reading participants!
- Southern
Maryland Blue Crabs July 22 fireworks game. Every child
participating in Summer Reading Club receives a free
ticket. It can be upgraded at discounted rates plus
additional discounted tickets can be purchased. Click here

- Baltimore
Orioles: 120 participants will receive Orioles tickets in
a random drawing.
- One
participant selected in a random drawing will receive a family
membership to the National Aquarium, B&O Railroad, or Port
Discovery.
- One
participant per branch will be will receive a family packet of 4
tickets in a random drawing.
