- April is National Library
Month
and National Poetry
Month.
Two special programs are planned--Digging into St.
Mary's City's Past on April 13 and Poetry Open Mic on April
6. Enjoy a visit to your library!
- Effective
May 2, holds not picked up, extended, or cancelled before
the hold period expires will be returned and a $.50
fine will be charged per item returned. Why this

- The
Relationship Tile Project is on display at
Lexington Park Library's Art Gallery through May 15. An opening
reception will be held on April 13, 5-8 PM. The mosaics were
created in workshops held at Walden Sierra in Spring 2010 and
depict relationships known to the contributor.
- The plant clinics conducted by the Master
Gardeners begin on April 19 at Lexington Park (1st & 3rd
Tuesdays, 11 AM-1 PM); April 26 at Leonardtown (2nd 7 4th
Tuesdays, 11 AM-1 PM) and May 7 at Charlotte Hall (1st & 3rd
Saturdays, 10 AM-noon). Stop by and get your gardening
questions answered.

- Need help downloading eBooks? Stop by any
branch and let us demonstrate how on the library's NOOKcolor...or
attend the eBooks Workshop
at Leonardtown on May 16.
- The libraries will be closed on Friday, April 22,
for Good Friday and on Sunday, April 24, for Easter. The
branches will be closed on the following Friday mornings for staff
training:

volunteers who helped make this year's book sale the best ever.

Digging Into St. Mary's
City's Past
Ruth Mitchell, Senior Staff Archaeologist at Historic St.
Mary's City, will discuss her work on St. John's Site Museum and her
current project at Anne Arundel Hall in St. Mary's City.
