October  2008

Greetings!

Our October programs bring Hauntingly Happy Halloween parties to Teen Read Week movie showings and even a Poetry Open Mic for all ages.

Don't miss the One Maryland One Book Reader's Theater, a dramatic reading of A Hope in the Unseen, on Oct. 24 and a visit with the book's author Ron Suskind on Oct. 22.  Details follow.

Read about our new services--automated phone notification, wireless printing and transfer of audio books to iPods.

Delegates John Wood and John Bohanan observed the space limitations of the busy Leonardtown Library after discussing the Leonardtown Library Building Project at a luncheon hosted recently by the Board of Library Trustees for state-elected officials.

Touring the branch with the Delegates are Branch Manager Marylee Russell,  Director Kathleen Reif, and Board members Dan Burris, Alan Dillingham and Joseph Bush.  Senator Roy Dyson and Delegate Anthony O'Donnell were unable to attend due to previous commitments.

Record-breaking statistics

Director Reif shared St. Mary's County ranks 5th in the state in circulation with 11.9 items circulated per resident, up from 6th in 2006 and 7th in 2005.
