Maryland Health Connection

Maryland Health Connection Open Enrollment Began October 1

Maryland Health Connection new window is a new marketplace that will offer health insurance and coverage options to individuals, families, and employers with up to 50 employees as of October 1, 2013. This enrollment period will extend through March 31, 2014. Coverage for qualified health plans (QHPs) will be effective beginning in January 2014.

The MHC marketplace was created in response to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), signed March 23, 2010. You can use Maryland Health Connection to compare and purchase health care insurance plans, and to locate and apply for financial assistance if eligible. If your income is below a certain level, you may be eligible for Medicaid, which would be either free or low-cost.
