The Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library (FOL) is an organization of persons interested in libraries who advocate for and support the library as a group and individually.  The Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library has raised over $532,000 and counting for St. Mary’s County Library.

Membership

Members receive ‎FOL newsletters and early buying privileges at the Spring Book Sale before the sale opens to the public. Membership runs January through December. If you join or renew after October 1, your membership will be through December of the following year.

Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library Annual Brunch

The Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library Annual Brunch will be held at Olde Breton Inn, 21890 Society Hill Rd, Leonardtown, MD on Saturday, January 27, 2018, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The menu includes casseroles, potatoes, muffins, fruit salad, juices, coffee, tea, and water.

Our guest speaker will be Rick Snider, a Washington sportswriter. After starting with the Maryland Independent in 1978, he has since spent 33 years working for Washington daily newspapers covering the Washington Redskins and other pro teams as well as horse racing, Olympics and World Cup. Voted Washington’s top sportswriter in 2010, Rick now writes for The Washington Post Express and CBS Radio. Rick has written eight books, including The Final Form of Love, his first fiction book with setting in Southern Maryland. He is also a Washington, DC, tour guide and lives in Waldorf.

Book Sales

The Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library spring book sale will take place April 13-15, 2018 at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds. Friends only on Friday, April 13, 12 – 8 p.m. (become a member at the door!). The sale is open to the public Saturday, April 14, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 15, 12 – 4 p.m.
