Register with Beanstack and discover books and activities matched by age group for all ages! Receive weekly book recommendations, follow learning tips for children to make the most out of your reading experience, learn about library programs matched to your child’s age and your local library location, and keep track of progress and achievements. LexiCON Fanfiction Writing Contest

Do you have a favorite character from a movie, t.v. show, or book? Do you wish that their adventure could continue on? Well, who is better to write their next adventure than YOU?! Write the first chapter of your fanfiction involving any character of your choice. Three age categories will be judged: birth to 10 years old, 11 to 17 years old, and 18+. Prizes will be awarded to 1st through 3rd place winners in each age group, and the 1st place winners will be honored by having their chapter read in front of a live audience at LexiCON (October 1). All entries are due by September 25 and must be 3000 characters or less and family friendly. Enter the writing contest.

Learning in Action!
A partnership between the Greenwell Foundation and the St. Mary’s County Library to encourage children to read and be outdoors.
Storytime at Greenwell State Park (25420 Rosedale Manor Lane, Hollywood, Maryland 20636)
Enjoy the scenery of Greenwell while also attending a library run storytime! Enjoy a fun mix of stories, songs and activities, and afterwards be sure to check out the open barn which stays open until noon. Ages 6-10 recommended, but all are welcome!

Do you have what it takes to be the very best?  Bring your games and/or your cards and prepare to battle against other Pokémon trainers! Participate in Pokémon trivia and button making, and maybe make some friends along the way. Complete the pokedex challenges beforehand (Found in the Teen Zone!) and bring in your completed pokedex to receive Gym badges! All Ages.

Preschool Time Traveling Kids’ Storytime
A special storytime by Jefferson Patterson Park features opportunities for young learners to experience everyday life of children at different points in history.
