Join us for programs and events at the Veterans Home throughout the year! See more information and our current schedule of programs at the Veterans Home.
Preschool Music Explorers
Join us as we explore music and interpretive dance by playing simple instruments, moving our bodies, and creating art inspired by classical pieces! For ages 3-5; registration recommended. Registration opens 2 weeks before each program.

Minecraft Challenges!
Can you think on your feet, team up, use creativity, and complete the challenge? Come play Minecraft with us and find out! We’ll be taking on a new challenge for each session. Must be able to use a mouse and keyboard commands, and be familiar with how to play Minecraft (we will not use the tutorial). Ages 7-11. Registration opens 2 weeks before each program.

Pokémon Trainers Club! at Leonardtown Library
Do you have what it takes to be the very best? Bring your games and/or your cards and prepare to battle against other Pokémon trainers! You can also make some Pokémon buttons to take home, take turns playing a retro Pokémon game, and maybe make some friends (or rivals….) along the way. All ages.

Preschool Astronomy Explorers
Let’s learn about outer space! We’ll explore orbiting planets and twinkling stars with fun books and hands-on activities. For ages 3-6; registration encouraged. Registration opens 2 weeks before each program.

Homeschool Science Fair
The 16th annual Southern Maryland Homeschool Science Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Leonardtown Library. See the Information Letter PDF File and fill out the registration form PDF File.
Secret Pizza Party!
Everything is cooler when it’s a secret, and that’s especially true for pizza parties! Celebrate Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri, the creative geniuses behind the children’s book Secret Pizza Party, by attending a real secret pizza party at the library. Expect games, crafts, and of course…some secret pizza. Activities planned with ages 2-6 in mind; all ages welcome with their adult caregivers. Please register. Storytime at Greenwell State Park
This program takes place at Greenwell State Park (25420 Rosedale Manor Ln, Hollywood, MD 20636). Stories, rhymes, songs, and activities for children ages 2-5 with their adult caregivers, at Greenwell State Park! Feel free to bring a picnic lunch for afterwards! Siblings welcome.

School Age Explorers Haiku Button Making
Celebrate National Poetry Month by making some haiku poetry buttons that you get to take home! Using pages from old books, colodful images from magazines, and your imagination, you can make a piece of art that you can show off to your friends. We’ll supply all the materials, you just have to write the poetry! Recommended for children ages 7 and up. Registration encouraged. Registration opens 2 weeks before each program.
