The Commissioners of St. Mary’s County, in their budget session on March 21, agreed to support $518,000 in additional funding for the St. Mary’s County Library in FY24. Although this is short of the $1.3M we initially asked for, we are very grateful to the Commissioners for their support of the Library! Due to numerous large budget requests from agencies and organizations throughout St. Mary’s County, they were unable to fully fund our request and we respect that we all must work together to have a successful and thriving St. Mary’s County. We will ask for additional increases in funding next year to help us ‘catch up’ over time.
