LexiCon is an event for people of all ages who love comic books, science fiction, fantasy, gaming, and superheroes! Join us for trivia, an obstacle course for kids, a cosplay contest, and prizes! See pictures from previous years and our activities, artists, and vendors from LexiCon 2023.

Schedule

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Board Games, Photo booth, VR games
10 – 11 a.m.: “Heroes in Training” Course
12 – 1 p.m. Outdoor Weapons Demonstration with The Barony of Dun Carraig
12 – 1 p.m.: Meet Michael Munshaw
12 – 1 p.m.: Minifigure Painting
1 – 2 p.m.: Dungeon Flippers Viewing and Discussion (Recommended for Ages 9+, for mentions of fantasy violence and some scary imagery)
1 – 2 p.m.: Trivia
2 – 3 p.m.: Activities and Prize Vault
3 – 4 p.m.: Cosplay Contest

Outdoor Weapons Demonstration with The Barony of Dun Carraig

The Barony of Dun Carraig is chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) in Southern Maryland. The SCA is an international non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and re-enactment of life in the Middle Ages and early Renaissance. The SCA’s members practice all the Arts & Sciences of medieval life from the daily living of making and wearing of garb and preparing feasts to the war time interests of making armor for rapier combat to fully armored combat fielding armies numbering in the thousands of soldiers. Michael Munshaw – Illustrator and Graphic Designer

Michael Munshaw is an Illustrator/Graphic Designer who has been working in the industry for way too many years. Michael’s artwork is wide ranging, always displaying a dynamic energy to each piece. As an Illustrator he has done comic book work for Visionary Comics title The Offspring and IDW’s Deadlands: Dead Man’s Hand. His sketch card work includes working on properties for Upper Deck/Marvel, Fanatics/Topps Star Wars, DC Bombshells, Rick and Morty, Archer, Steven Universe, and many others.

Dungeon Flippers

Dungeon Flippers is a fantasy real-estate cartoon all about finding a home for yourself, no matter who or what you are! After an airing of the pilot, we’ll have a Q&A with the creator, Travis Fowler, about creating a cartoon pilot, animation, and other topics! Check out Dungeon Flippers on YouTube. Travis Fowler is an animator in Atlanta. He’s worked on shows such as Mulligan on Netflix and Koalaman on Hulu. His interest in Dungeons and Dragons, music, exploring and creative storytelling are hobbies that keep him inspired!

Crafts N Stitches

Crafts N Stitches is a new store in Historic Leonardtown that is opening in October. We are a unique arts and crafts store that will be offering a wide range of classes that include everything from “how to sew,” “how to make wreaths,” “how to paint miniatures,” to “how to play D&D,” “how to make cosplay masks,” and so much more. There will be paint nights for ceramics, D&D minis, and mixed media, and we will incorporate holiday crafting, weekly roleplaying, and even some cosplay events.
