St. Mary’s County Library can attend neighborhood and community events to showcase innovative Library resources, demonstrate engaging activities, and more. If you are interested in a visit and presentation from a librarian or having a Library table at your event, please submit an Outreach Request and a staff member will be in touch.
We are excited to announce that St. Mary’s County Library has received a grant through the Maryland State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to build a Mobile Library! An update of the bookmobile, our Mobile Library will have a collection of books, movies, and more to checkout, WiFi, computer workstations, and programming spaces. It will visit communities that are farther from our Library buildings, as well as senior facilities and day care centers, to deliver resources and connectivity. It is an exciting expansion of Library services, bringing the Library to you.
See the planned layout . We hope to be on the road later this year! More information is coming soon!
The $250,000 grant will pay for much of the vehicle, but total costs not including the collection will be over $310,000. The St. Mary’s County Library Foundation is raising funds to support this powerful new way to provide community services. If you’d like to donate, you can do so online below, or send a check made out to “St. Mary’s County Library Foundation” to 23630 Hayden Farm Lane, Leonardtown MD 20650. All donations will be acknowledged on the Foundation’s webpage. Donors of $1,000 or more will be invited to a VIP event at the ribbon cutting for the Mobile Library.
