Update May 8, 2024 – Lexington Park Library will reopen for full use on Thursday, May 9.
April 25, 2024 – Leonardtown, Md. – The St. Mary’s County Library is excited to announce Lexington Park Library will be installing new shelving to beautify the Library and enhance the browsing experience for our customers. This shelving project is possible through a generous donation from the Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library. The new shelving will be installed starting on Monday, May 6 and should be complete by Monday, May 13. During the installation, the meeting rooms will be open for use (by reservation), the lobby will be open, and customers can pick up their holds to checkout. The main part of the Library will be closed to the public. The closed area includes the computer lab and public computers, the children’s area, the art gallery, the teen area, and the adult area.
To place a hold for an item to pick up at Lexington Park Library, please browse our catalog and simply “Place Hold Request.” You will get a notification by email or phone call that your hold is ready.
Leonardtown Library and Charlotte Hall Library will be fully open for regular business hours. The Mobile Library will be at the regularly scheduled stops, find more information on the Mobile Library page.

Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library is an organization of persons interested in libraries who advocate for and support the library as a group and individually. Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library has raised over $824,000 and counting for St. Mary’s County Library. They hold an annual book sale at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds every Spring, this year May 17-19.
