What is sublimation printing?
Sublimation is a process that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials like fabric, ceramics, or metal, creating vibrant, long-lasting designs. Unlike traditional printing methods, sublimation allows for full-color, high-quality images that become part of the material, ensuring durability and resistance to fading.
Designs are printed using sublimation ink onto sublimation transfer paper using our sublimation printer. The Makerspace at Lexington Park Library has an Epson ET-15000 sublimation printer, which can scan in designs or connect to a computer via USB cable. The resulting prints can be transferred onto a variety of surfaces using our ProSub Large 40L Convection Sublimation Oven, our Cricut Heat Press, or our 15″x15″ HTVONT Auto Heat Press.
