Requests are limited to one ancestor per submission.
Requesters are limited to two ancestor research requests per month.
Please limit requests to ancestors who resided within the state of Maryland at some point in their life.
A librarian will use the Library’s available resources to research your request. These resources include our physical Genealogy and Maryland collections, our newspaper database, and other select digital resources.
The Library does not employee a Genealogy Librarian, so your request may take more than a week to fill. If so, a Librarian will reach out to give you an estimated completion date.
The Library does not guarantee that your request can be filled, or that all information will be accurate.
The Library has the right to refuse unreasonable or burdensome requests. If the Library cannot provide the information you are seeking, a Librarian may direct you to other organizations that may be better suited to your needs.
