December 15, 2025 – Leonardtown, Md. – St. Mary’s County Library is pleased to share results from our 2025 Customer Satisfaction Survey. The survey received more than 1,100 responses from St. Mary’s County residents and the results reflect high levels of community trust, satisfaction, and engagement. Comments and answers demonstrated that customers continue to view the Library as an essential and well-loved public service.
Survey results highlight numerous strengths across locations, services, and customer experience. Staff assistance received particularly high ratings, with more than 80% of customers rating staff service as excellent. Cleanliness and maintenance of Library facilities also stood out, with nearly 78% rating indoor cleanliness as excellent. Physical materials, digital collections, and technology services—including Wi-Fi, self-checkout, and computer access—were all viewed positively, reaffirming the Library’s commitment to providing high-quality, accessible resources.
Key highlights include:
• High satisfaction with staff, with 80.6% rating staff assistance as excellent.
• Outstanding facility conditions, with 77.8% rating library cleanliness inside locations as excellent.
• Strong satisfaction with physical materials, with 60.3% rating print materials as excellent.
• Robust technology performance, including over 70% rating self-checkout services positively.
Customers also expressed strong interest in future growth areas, such as expanding our print and digital collections, increasing programming, exploring homework help centers, adding to our makerspaces, and offering more delivery services. These insights will shape the Library’s plans for continued innovation and responsive service that meets the evolving needs of St. Mary’s County.
