POSITION: Youth Services Intern, 21 or 28 hours per week for 10 weeks between June 8 and August 14
LOCATION: One intern at each of the Library locations: Charlotte Hall Library (21 hours), Leonardtown Library (21 hours), Lexington Park Library (21 hours), Mobile Library (28 hours)
SALARY: $15.00 per hour
CLOSING DATE: 11:59 p.m. on April 16.
INTERVIEWS: Virtual interviews on Zoom, May 6 and 7
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Assists children and teens in using Library resources
- Assists with storytimes
- Develops early learning activities and hand-outs
- Assists with Summer Reading Program activities
- Performs other duties and participates in special projects, as assigned
REQUISITES:
- 18 years or older, with an interest in careers that involve Early Childhood and Early Literacy
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work with youth of all ages
- Excellent communication skills
- Work requires light physical effort in the handling of materials or boxes in non-strenuous work positions up to 30 pounds and/or continual standing or walking of 75%+ of the time
