Thank you for your donations!
We have now received enough monetary contributions, along with enough donated healthy, hearty snacks to serve children weekdays at the Lexington Park Library through August 21. The response from our community exceeded expectations and demonstrates what can be accomplished when individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations work together! St. Mary’s County Library extends its sincere appreciation to every donor, volunteer, community organization, business, and group that collected snacks, contributed funds, promoted the campaign, or encouraged others to participate.
Why Lexington Park Library?
Lexington Park Library has the most concentrated need and is the location where we see the highest number of hungry children during the summer. This is also where we have held Lunch at the Library since 2017, and we know many customers will come hoping to get food. Because the response from the community exceeded our expectations, we have enough to be able to offer snacks to hungry kids before or after many of our scheduled children’s events at Charlotte Hall Library and Leonardtown Library this summer.
